Milking stool update

Remember the milking stool that I picked up at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago?I thought it looks awkward and cute in the same time, and I thought it would be the perfect chair to use when painting..

That didn’t last long to say at least, because one day I was bored, didn’t want to start a big project, so I decided to pick on this little one..I had some Rustoleum spray paint that I picked up in one of my visits to Home Depot..but, I wanted something extra for it..  I had some ideas in my mind, once I revisited one of my favorite Knack makeovers..

I taped off  Frog Tape on each leg, so once I took off the tape I had some amazing wood showing..I used  dark walnut stain to brush it on the raw wood, just to give it a little bit of color and shine..I finished off the look with some high gloss lacquer from Rustoleum.

How do you like it?

  1. I never thought to keep circles of original wood showing through! How cute! To take that effect even further, you could have also kept the round ball part of the legs original wood, too, and maybe some smaller bands of wood around that area, and do a whole effect with the legs. That effect is really cool! Great job!
