Reinventing a sewing machine

Did that title made you curious? I bet it did…This is a project that I finished quite some time ago, I was just super slow(lazy) to stage it and take the pictures..I have been slacking a little bit lately, I am having a hard time picking myself up and going back into the rhythm after the holidays..and it also starting to get hot outside, and I have a small tendency to go into hibernation during Arizona summer..Talking about summer, is peaking around the corner, they already announced 100 F for this weekend..I am not ready to get toasted, I am enjoying the spring too much. Anyways, I should stop talking right about now, and show you my little project..
So, a sewing machine should be used for sewing, right? Well, it used to be one, but then, it only had the cabinet when I picked it up..it is not something I would buy, buy being such a bargain, I was thinking, why not, let’s give it a try..so then a desk was born..
My laptop fits on it perfectly!

I applied some wallpaper detail onto the fake drawer..

..the hardware is from Hobby Lobby, and it was black originally, but that just didn’t fit the style of the desk anymore and painted it white so that it blends in better..

I lightly distressed it, just enough to give it that little extra something..

The top part still opens up, but it doesn’t hide any compartments or anything like that..just a memory of a sewing machine..I am having a hard time finding a name for this little one, so I am open to suggestions..

Oh yes, and let’s not forget the before picture..quite boring, isn’t it?

Great job, Deny! The color is my favorite, of course. I think I would paint my whole freakin' HOUSE in turquoise shades if I could!! That makes such a nice accent table that will be sure to turn heads when you have guests over!
