Not long ago while I was cruising around through one of my favorite stores Pier 1, (especially at lunch time feels really good to get away from work and relax) I saw this romantic lamp, perfect for my bedroom…with only one problem, price tag..
The laced gave it such a romantic feel, perfect bedroom lamp..I just didn’t want to spend the $75..
Not long after, when I was deal hunting at Goodwill, I stumble upon this lamp base ..$5.99? perfect for me..I didnt like the brass look though..
same shelf, one feet apart, was this lampshade..
at that price tag, you bet I was doing the happy dance..a few days later, browsing around the misses department, I found this lacey tank top, perfect for what I had in mind.
First I painted the lam base with Krylon
then I detached the lace from the tank top, after all, that was the only reason I bought it…then, wrapped it around the lamp shade, and hot glued it all around the top and the bottom edges..quite a few burned fingers later, I got this..
Awesome, right? Mission accomplished!
and I loved the color so much, that I painted this little figurine as well..
Now, while it is far from being perfect, I love it..and it looks perfect with the dresser..And at the end of the day, I am happy to report, my cost was less the $15..
Everything is possible with a little imagination!

Love it! Such a cute idea!
Jenny
So cute! And I love the price. Your lamp looks just as beautiful as the pricey Pier 1 version!!
Thank you Jenny!
Thank you Beth! I like how it turned out, it brings a smile to my face every morning when I look at it!
How did you finish the edges of the lace?
Hi, on the bottom part I kept the original trim that the tank top had, and on the top, I rolled the fabric over de edge and hot glued it inside the lamp shade. I plan on addind some ribbon over it, so that it kind of covers some of the mistakes, or wwhere the glue is peaking through the lace.
It's really nice. I like it better than the Pier 1 lamp.
That is too cool! It has a bit of a naughty flavor doesn't it with that black lace
. Way awesome! Thanks for linking up at The Stinky Linky!
